Join us for a Meet-and-Greet with Robby Clemens on Thursday, September 28, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Please let us know by September 26 whether you will be attending by writing to angelika@houstonleipzig.org or by paying below.
Robby Clemens, a 55-year-old extreme runner from Leipzig, Germany, is often referred to as the German Forrest Gump. He was born and raised in the former German Democratic Republic, and after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Clemens turned a small workshop into a small business with over 100 employees. The business shared the destiny of many in former East Germany, and went bankrupt in the mid-1990s, ruining the entire family. Clemens began to drink and to smoke.
In 1998, when his life was completely out of balance, he discovered that running could save him. And he has been running ever since. Clemens has participated in numerous marathons and charity runs, as well as a world run across 27 countries in 2007.
Meet Robby Clemens on his way to the South Pole while he stops in Houston, and get inspired by this successful motivational speaker and his story! Participants will get the chance to win a copy of his book “Ich lauf dann mal los – zu Fuß um die Welt.” World Corporate Games will give away one of their “swag bags.”
Please note that this event will be partially in German, but translation will be provided.
