Today we remember those who gave their lives for their country. Reach out to the family of a fallen soldier, take time to comfort a child who lost a father or mother in the military, take time to help with a wounded-warrior or support-our-troops project, take time to pay respects to a veteran.
In observance of the holiday, many people visit cemeteries and memorials, and volunteers often place American flags on each grave site at national cemeteries. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time all over the country.
