Get in the mood for Christmas with the Houston Saengerbund Christmas Concert on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1311 Holman Street, Houston, TX  77004, and experience traditional German Christmas songs and treats. Admission to the concert is free.

The Concert will include a variety of traditional songs sung in German, like: O Tannenbaum, Maria durch ein’ Dornwald ging and Kommet ihr Hirten. Other favorite carols include English, Latin, and Spanish carols, and will make you want to join the sing-along.

You are cordially invited to a reception afterwards with traditional German treats like Lebkuchen and Spekulatius. The aroma of the famous Feuerzangenbowle will transport you to Germany.  The Feuerzangenbowle is a traditional German winter drink, where a rum-soaked sugar cone is set on fire and drips into a bowl of hot mulled wine below.  You may remember the movie by the same name with actor Heinz Ruehmann (1944).
