Wagner’s Das Rheingold was pure gold on opening weekend at Houston Grand Opera!
Critics call Das Rheingold “utterly enthralling”! Do join us on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, for a fabulous offering by the Houston Grand Opera! Das Rheingold starts Houston on the journey of Richard Wagner’s ring cycle, with Die Walkuere, Siegfried, and Goetterdaemmerung to follow in the next three years. Almost all Rheingold performances are sold out – if you don’t already have your tickets, please get them now with a special discount for Houston-Leipzig; just mention promo code 4321, and you get 15% off.
We will start our evening with a wine and cheese pre-performance reception at 6:00 p.m. in the Brown Alcove, which is to the right of the large escalators as you rise up into the foyer. At 6:15 p.m. a pre-performance lecture will get us just into the mood for all the Rhinemaidens and their treasured gold, the treachery of Alberich, and all that follows thereafter. You will have plenty of time to find your seats before the performance begins.
You do not have to be a member of Houston-Leipzig to join us for the reception and lecture. The cost will be $15 for members, and $20 for non-members (of course, you can always become a member!). Please respond now to angelika@houstonleipzig.org so that we can give a good number of participants to the caterers.
See you all on April 23 at the opera!
