Revisiting the Celebrations in Houston of the 25th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]o honor the historic significance of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig made a 25-year anniversary tour in the United States.  President George H. W. Bush and Secretary of State James A. Baker III, both in office at the time of the fall of the Berlin Wall, were Honorary Chairs of the first concert of the tour at Jones Hall in Houston on November 3, 2014.  Following are materials and links discussing the concert and a Panel Discussion at the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University the evening before the concert, featuring contemporary eyewitnesses from 1989 and experts on these events.
