Houston will welcome a cultural treasure from Leipzig, the Thomanerchor (St. Thomas Boys Choir), the only musical institution in Europe in continuous existence for over 800 years.  Johann Sebastian Bach was once its director, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy worked with it, and Richard Wagner was a member.

On Saturday, November 9 at 7:00 p.m. the choir will present music of J.S. Bach and Vivaldi. On Sunday, November 10 at 5:00 p.m. the works of Bach, Telemann, Mendelssohn, Schumann, and Reger will be on the program.

We hope that you will come to the performances, but we also need your help.  Usually the choir is booked in East Coast cities, and to get them to Houston incurs substantial additional costs not covered by ticket sales.  Please show your support by making a tax-deductible donation to cover the additional costs for the Houston performances.

Please make your check payable to the “Bach Society Houston,” reference it with “Thomanerchor Houston-Leipzig,” so that it can be attributed properly, and mail it to:

Bach Society Houston
2353 Rice Boulevard
Houston, Texas  77005

If you wish your name to appear in the program as a donor, please mail your donation immediately and let us know by Tuesday how much you will donate.  Tickets can be purchased online at

Thank you in advance for your generosity and we hope to see you on November 9/10 at Stude Hall.
