For the second Bach Vespers of the season, the Bach Society Houston under the direction of Albert LeDoux presents an array of works from the Baroque by J.S. Bach, C.P.E. Bach, Homilius, and Muffat with the Bach Choir Houston and Mercury Baroque  on Sunday, November 6, 2011. Featured Soloists are Sharlu Melville (soprano), Ashley Brooks (alto), Alex Hemsath (tenor), Brendan Emig (bass), and Timothy Duhr (guest organist).

The Bach Vespers will begin at 6:00 p.m.  The performance will be preceded by Illuminations: Catgut, Kellner, and Fagotto: An Exploration of Baroque Instruments, Tunings, and TemperamentIlluminations are a series of lectures and discussions before each Bach Vespers and Abendmusik Concert events.

Admission is free.  Both the performance and lecture will be at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 2353 Rice Boulevard, Houston, TX 77005.  Parking is available at the Rice University lot on Greenbriar across the street from the church for $1.00.
