We are privileged to hear this young, talented musician in a private concert:  Join us in welcoming Aaron Kaufman to a special Houston-Leipzig performance on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at 6:30 p.m.

Last winter Leipzig asked us to send a young musician to represent Houston at some musical events.   Aaron Kaufman was highly recommended for his song-writing, singing and guitar skills, and we provided a stipend for his travel costs; the people of Leipzig took care of the rest. In the ten days he was there, he played concerts at nine different venues and taught a workshop on  American Pop Music and Songwriting at the Musikschule Leipzig „Johann Sebastian Bach.“  Leipzig loved him and his jazz-influenced folk-pop style.  Another headliner asked to have Aaron join him in his main act, and musicians clamored to jam with him.  During the day he connected with our Houston exchange students on some of their outings – you’ve seen the pictures in earlier posts on our website.

Now he is showing his appreciation by giving a concert for the Houston-Leipzig Sister City Association.  Read more about Aaron, his winning a John-Lennon-Songwriting Scholarship, his pro bono work at Texas Children’s Hospital, and much more by clicking here.

Before the concert we have our customary food and beverage reception. In all these years we have not run out of food or drink at our gatherings, but we do need your RSVPs so that we may plan.
