BennettHouston attorney Robert Bennett will talk to us on German-Turkish Relations; Refugees, Erdogan, the Coup, and the Aftermath on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall,  Christ the King Lutheran Church, 2353 Rice Boulevard, Houston, TX  77005.  This will be a most interesting talk, particularly in light of recent activities in Turkey and in Europe.

We will also have some great music – Yanis Eberhart will entertain us with his violin for the last quarter of our reception, and at 7:00 p.m. he and Jacques Bourely will play a 15-minute concert before our program begins.

Our customary food and beverage reception starts at 6:30 p.m. Registration will begin at 6:15 p.m., the presentation at 7:00 p.m. Meeting fees are $10 for members, $5 for students, and $15 for nonmembers.  Ample parking is available on the Rice University parking lot off Greenbriar Street for $1, credit cards only.  PLEASE RSVP NOW to angelika@houstonleipzig.org.

Mr. Bennett is a former Assistant United States Attorney and former President of the University of Houston Law Center Alumni Association.  He served as Legislative Assistant to United States Congressman Patrick T. Caffery and Corporate Counsel for a Coca-Cola Bottler  in Guatemala City, Guatemala C.A. He has been an adjunct professor at Lone Star College – North Harris County, where he has taught business law and business ethics.  He has had three extensive trips to Germany and led four Houston groups to Turkey. He has also lectured on the American Legal System at Munster University, Munster Germany and at Fatih University in Istanbul, Turkey.
