The time has come to get your tickets for the very special concert Monday night, November 3, 2014, when the world famous Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig comes to Jones Hall under the baton of Ricardo Chailly for the opening of its 2014 Celebratory U.S. tour right here in in Houston, Texas, at 7:30 p.m.

You do recall when Mayor Annise Parker held a press conference together with Secretary James A. Baker III, the Houston Symphony, and Houston-Leipzig board members in June, announcing the concert and the Honorary Chairs President George H. W. Bush and Secretary James A. Baker III : http://houstontx.swagit.com/play/06122014-887

The tour celebrates the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall and the beginning of the end of the Cold War. Former President Bush and former Secretary of State James A. Baker III, local Houstonians and two of the people instrumental in guiding two Germanys into a unified Germany, are Honorary Chairs of the concert. The tour ends in New York on November 9, 2014, 25 years to the day when the dreaded wall opened its gates to a whole country of people imprisoned within its confines.
