pentecost germanLet the Spirit move you in German and other languages!  Pastor Karin Liebster and Vicar Iris Schneider-Ungar of Christ the King Lutheran Church cordially invite you and your family to celebrate with them a German-language Pentecost service on May 15 at 4:00 p.m.  in the wonderfully renovated church (nave).  The Church is located at 2353 Rice Boulevard, Houston, TX  77005.  Parking is available at no cost on the west Rice Stadium lot, entrance 13A, off Greenbriar Drive.

There will be a German-Language Children’s Service during worship, so that they can experience the Pentecost miracle with a story and activities.

Afterwards the celebration continues with a potluck picnic and lots of fun.  The German Consulate General is supporting the picnic with a donation of wine, and there will be German sausages and pretzel rolls, compliments of Restaurant Charivari.  For the picnic to be a rounding success, you can help by bringing lots of food (salads, desserts, or your very own specialty) and drink (beer and wine are welcome).  Water, ice tea, and lemonade will be available.

You can participate in the worship service by reading part of the Pentecost story in your own language or one you know.  The Pentecost reading is in Acts 2, verses 1-21.  A worship leader reads the first four verses in German, then for each succeeding verse, a new language is added.  The church will provide the texts, which are currently available in Dutch, English, Finnish, French, Italian, Latin, Norwegian, Polish, Spanish, Swedish, Contemporary Russian, Russian, and Portuguese.  If you need the text in a different language, please call the church at 713-523-2864.

Pastor Liebster and Vicar Schneider-Ungar would love to welcome you on May 15 at 4 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church. Please let your German friends, neighbors, and colleagues know and invite them!

Grace to you,
Let the Spirit move you!
