After our most successful backstage visit to the opera in January, we will now return to become a part of history when the Houston Grand Opera is putting on Richard Wagner’s Ring Cycle for the first time in its existence.  This year and the next three we will witness spectacular opera. The cycle starts with Das Rheingold.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. we’ll go see Das Rheingold together.  We will have a reception in a private room before the performance in the Wortham Center, and we will let you know the details shortly.  Please call 713-228-6737 today to order your tickets; they seem to be going like hotcakes!  The promo code for our group is 4321, which entitles you to 15% off.  Please drop me a note at angelika@houstonleipzig.org that you’ll be joining us at the opera and pre-performance reception.  The cost for the reception should not be much higher than our regular meeting costs.

As the opera puts it:  “The sounds of Wagner are starting to fill downtown—Das Rheingold rehearsals have begun and the performing forces of Houston Grand Opera are preparing for a spectacular opening . . .

Do join us for this memorable evening on April 23 — see you at the opera!
