We are in URGENT need of Remote German Speaking Reservation Agents for our Houston and Salt Lake City locations. We are looking for 4 Agents, 2 Part Time & 2 Full Time and need to have them in place by October.

Remote Reservation Sales Agent – German Support – Part Time & Full Time – NHC (North Houston Reservation Center) & SLC (Salt Lake City Reservation Center)

Salary during Training: $7.56/hour
Upon successful completion of training, Salary: $9.89 / hour (includes language override of $2.33)

Please note that this position will be hired under the subsidiary Continental Airlines collective bargaining agreement or divisional work rules until a joint agreement or combined divisional work rules are obtained.
Responsibilities:
- Handle incoming phone calls from the Foreign Language Desk (FLD) that include booking global itineraries and answering inquires from customers
- Efficiently handle special requests; assist all customers including those with disabilities using United guidelines
- Utilize customer service and sales techniques to effectively address customer needs
- Consistently deliver a standard-setting product to our customers
- Maintain statistical excellence in all areas to support productivity goals
- Be accountable for all scheduled telephone time to meet service level goals
- Maintain an ergonomically correct work area
- Provide hardware for remote office to include desktop PC, broadband internet, telephone, and headset.
- Must be fluent (speak, read, write, and comprehend) German (language assessment test will be administered)
- Must be fluent (speak, read, write, and comprehend) English
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must possess a high school diploma/GED or the equivalent
- This is a part time position
- Must have experience using computers, including MS Outlook and Office Communicator (Instant Messaging)
- Customer service experience required
- Must be flexible to work any shift within a 24-hour period including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to attend a full-time (8 ½ hour) training class within a 24 hour period in the Reservations Office, as well as remote agent training
- Must provide a remote office work environment that is free of distractions and transparent to the customer
- Must provide the technical requirements for desktop PC, internet, phone line, and headset for your remote office
- Must be willing to provide a hard-wired traditional phone line from a local phone company, free of all features (i.e. call waiting, call notes, etc), in the calling area.
- Must be willing to provide a secondary phone line for communication purposes during work schedule. This may be a cellular phone
- Must be willing to work in the traditional office environment for approximately 6 months prior to commencing the remote work assignment. Remote work assignment will be contingent upon successful completion of proficiency testing
- Must be willing to travel to the reservations office when needed
- Must be proficient navigating through the internet
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent listening skills
- Previous sales experience preferred
- Must agree to follow all established United policies including those found within the Working Together Guidelines, Reservations Handbook, Drug and Alcohol Policy, and other applicable United policies and rules
- Must be able to pass a 10-year security background check
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship
